Acrisure Amphitheater is a 12,000 seat riverside outdoor event venue being constructed in Grand Rapids, Mich. The amphitheater’s main feature is a 180 ft wide x 350ft long x 80ft tall structural steel canopy. Employing Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), the construction team assisted Progressive AE (SEoR), with transitioning the Conceptual to Final Design, incorporating fabrication and erection efficiencies required to meet the challenging cost and schedule restrictions. LPR Construction erected the structure with assistance from Ruby + Associates in development of the Erection Procedure for the cantilevered truss 2-way system, requiring the use of 4 shoring towers and a step-by-step procedure.
