Demand is growing for high-performance and low-maintenance structural materials. This presentation focuses on stainless steel design and the benefits of using a material that is inherently durable, which will be illustrated by a range of recent applications. The structural performance of stainless steel will be compared to that of carbon steel, highlighting the key differences in the design provisions between AISC 370 and AISC 360 and addressing FAQs about the use of stainless steel as a structural material.
