Chevron braced frames offer many architectural advantages, but Chevron SCBFS are seldom used in practice today, because of current design provisions. Recent research into the seismic performance of Chevron braced frames has shown that significant improvements with greater economy and simpler design are possible. A new design method for Chevron SCBFs has been included in the AISC Standard 341-22 in response to this research. The research will be summarized, the new method will be described and a design example will be provided;
