The popularity of steel-framed parking structures is growing nationwide. Many owners, developers, and designers are realizing that steel-framed parking structures have a clear advantage in economy and durability. The Omaha-based, Nebraska Medicine, has been at the forefront of patient care, research, and education for several years. As one of the leading academic medical centers in the Midwest, with over 1,000 physicians and a rapidly expanding campus, parking capacity on-site has not been able to keep pace with increased demand. Relief came in the form of an eight-story, 730-spot parking garage. A steel superstructure coupled with a post-tensioned parking deck was selected.
