Flexural Members: Is My Cb Factor Correct? (PDH)

Presented by: Todd Helwig, PhD, PE

Engineers often use the lateral-torsional buckling modification factor Cb to adjust the strength of flexural members. Although one possible equation for Cb is provided in Chapter F of the AISC 360 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings, there exist several other possibilities in the Commentary and literature that may be more conducive to the situation at hand. Hear about the possibilities, and drastically improve the odds of employing the correct Cb when designing your next beam.

This course is based on a past NASCC session.

You must view the video and pass the quiz to receive a PDH certificate for this course.
