The history of the AISC Code of Standard Practice can be very educational. How can design delegation work properly? How can you avoid changes in your projects? How can you manage the differences that sometimes occur between contract documents at bid and documents issued for construction? When do we need a meeting of parties to the contract on a project? What is and isn’t structural steel – and why? These and other common questions have answers from recent improvements in the CoSP, which will be discussed from the perspectives of the engineer and the fabricator by members of the AISC Committee on the Code of Standard Practice.
