This session provides a technical overview of the steel joist and girder' continuous evolution from traditional 2D drafting and design to 3D modeling. We will review the interaction of the joist system elements with other trades, such as mechanical, architectural, electrical and plumbing, among others. Attendees will gain insights into the benefits of 3D workflows, including improved visualization of joist/girder profiles, web layouts and bridging types and locations for clash detection, and enhanced collaboration across disciplines.
