Many structural steel projects follow the practice of having the fabricator design the structural steel connections as part of their work. Establishing the connection design criteria that needs to be communicated to the fabricator in this process is of utmost importance. This session will cover best practices that help ensure a successful project. The issues to be covered include the Code of Standard Practice requirements, examples of how to best relay the connection design criteria to the fabricator, and approval practices.
