Steel Grade Separation Bridges

The webinar will cover the soon to be released AISC Document titled “Guide to Steel Highway Grade Separation Bridges”. This guide is intended to provide guidance to designers on cost-effective and durable grade separation bridges. The webinar will include the preliminary design of a grade separation bridge using the 2025 AISC/NSBA Standard Bridge Plans.

    		 Michael Culmo, PE, is a Bridge Engineer with 42 years of experience in bridge and highway design. He is the Chief Bridge Engineer at CHA Consulting, Inc. in East Hartford, CT. He has extensive experience in the design of steel bridges and has been responsible for managing design teams on new expressway bridges, highway interchanges, and bridge rehabilitation projects. He has been a member of the AASHTO/NSBA Steel Bridge Collaboration for over 25 years, where he chairs the Steel Bridge Bearing Task Group. Mr. Culmo holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a master’s degree in Structural Engineering, both from the University of Connecticut.
