When maintenance programs fail or the unexpected happens, engineers may be asked to determine if existing steel members affected by deterioration or corrosion are suitable to remain in service. In this presentation, we’ll introduce Fitness for Service Evaluation techniques suitable for structural applications and similar strength-based assessment approaches for evaluating deterioration derived from AISC Specification Appendix 5 and NCHRP Report 333. |
